Introducing my little Photographer

4 04 2010

Claudia has always loved to take photos and today watching Daddy play soccer was no exception.

I wish I could relax and enjoy the moment but in reality, my baby is holding my baby!

“Hmmm, have I got the ISO set right?”

I apologise for the quality of these shots – they were taken on my iphone.

As you can see my camera was otherwise engaged.

Recycled Art – Plastic Bottle Fish

4 04 2010

I have just finished a unit with my Grade One kids on Connection.  In their homeroom classes they explored water in relation to Connection and in Art we looked at all the connections to water there are… paper mache, clay, paint and the environment.

These fish  were created from recycled  plastic bottles.

Once all the art work was completed it was displayed in the school foyer.  It took me ages to hang all 105 fish, but the kids loved it.  I couldn’t resist capturing a shot of these girls standing, looking and talking about their Art – every teachers dream.

WAB’s Biggest Morning Tea

24 03 2010

We have been having a Small Change Appeal at school to raise funds for Chinese Migrant children.  The funds go to helping educate these children.  We decided to lead by example and so the staff held a fundraising morning tea to raise funds.  We had a fun day, lots of delicious food to eat and we were able to raise enough money to educate 2 children.

All my promises of posting more regularly now that I have this lovely new blog seem to have fallen by the wayside.

Once again life gets in the way.

Life in the Ciempka house is busy as usual.  I thought I would spend some time in this blog sharing all that has been going on in our lives.

Emily – lets start with Ciempka child number 1.

She is growing into such a lovely girl.  Emily is strong, stubborn and        caring.  She is learning the flute, playing soccer, she loves riding her bike    and is becoming a very good snow skier.  She is also starting to  really show  lots of promise as an actor.  In the school’s Grade 1, 2 and 3  Musical she  was the best actress and many people came up to me and  commented on  how much they loved her performance.    I love the fact that  no matter how  grown up she seems, she is still a little girl who likes playing  with dolls and  still needs hugs from her Mum.

Claudia – the 2nd Ciempka child.

Claudia is Miss Personality.  There is never any doubt as to how Claudia is  feeling, she wears every emotion on her sleeve.  She has really grown up in  the last few months and is constantly dancing or putting on little  performances for us to watch.  She is completely in love with Hannah  Montanna.  Claudia started learning the violin this year.  This was on her insistence…. it would be nice if she practised sometime!

What I do love though is that my girls are still best of friends and even though they thought they were big enough to have their own rooms have decided that they once again want to share rooms again.  Ahh so sweet.

Fun with the New Underwater Camera

21 02 2010

It is time for a change, a chance to streamline my blogs and keep them all in the one place.  Hopefully it will also be the start of more regular postings too?

Chinese New Year has passed and the Ciempka’s had a wonderful holiday in Malaysia.  All the photos below are shot from my new underwater camera.  I am not sure who likes it more?  Me or the kids.  Anyway I need to quickly think of something to post to get this blog rolling.

Here are some shots from my new camera.
